Default How works the "neutral" "useful" buttons ?

I noted across each comment 2 or 3 buttons to mark (either neutral or useful or not useful). But in most cases I saw that the botton selected is neutral. Does that mean that most people dont use this function ?

Hi Francois, welcome to TE! On the right of the top line of links, you'll see a link called "About". If you click on that you can then access TE's Guidelines and FAQ. You'll find them interesting and informative and they'll answer your query about workshops (which I saw in one of your critiques) as well as lots of other topics. Regarding the neutral/useful/not useful buttons, the Guidelines say the following :
"You may rate any critique on TE by clicking on the useful, neutral, or not useful dots next to a critique. Likewise, other members may rate your critiques. Your critique usefulness rating is calculated by adding the number of useful critiques and subtracting the number of not-useful critiques. When your usefulness rating is 10 or higher, you will see silver star next to your name; when that number reaches 50, you will see a gold star next to your name."
I use this feature (the Useful button) when I remember, which is not very often. If I get a particularly helpful critique (positive or negative) I do like to use it. Lots of people don't use it at all it seems.
Hope this helps. All the best, and enjoy your time at TE!
