Great holmertz 2018-12-05 1:21

Hello Ian,
This made me smile. I posted an almost identical photo of this strange painting only a few weeks ago, but as a WS. I think it has a meaning that maybe locals will understand, but it's beyond me. I liked it anyway, and so I like this photo, which also captured the texture of the wall nicely.
Regards,
Gert

Default To holmertz: Colapesce

Hi Gert

Colapesce and the 3 legs and snakes where the hair would be are the clues in the image. Notice too one snake is larger and appears where the 3rd leg normally would be on the Sicilian flag. The 3 legged figure is Sicily, and the Colapesce is a heroic figure in folklore that sacrificed his terrestrial life to forever support one of the 3 broken undersea columns beneath Sicily. When there are earthquakes it is Colapesce adjusting his shoulder.
