Great greg 2009-05-01 14:04

So nice to get back inside after an excursion like this... for myself, I absolutely enjoy this situation! To unpack the good things, put on the kettle...

I don't think I've seen such steep entrance staircases - what's the purpose of that?

Default To greg: staircases

Ah! ah! this is particular to the center of Montreal, these exterior staircases. I think the only purpose was to make the houses cheaper, without an inside staircase, they saved on the walls :-) These buildings date from around 1920 I believe, they are not built like that anymore, it wouldn't be authorized because when it snows you certainly have to hold to the guardrail to prefent from falling down the slippery stairs.

Concerning the other pic of Sedona. I went in the American West last fall, spent 2 weeks over there but only 1 day in Sedona, it wasn't on our program to go there but believe it or not we were suppose to spend 2 days in Grand Canyon but after a day we were fed up. That is because we weren't in a shape to go down in the canyon and could only look at it from the South edge, so we decided to go to SEdona on the second day.
