Great Luko 2007-05-01 5:59

Okay-ish.. I understand you wanted to focus on the water, which is logical, due to the theme of your photo work, but the background is kind of halfway between not so sharp and partly blurry.
You had to chose a solution. I think the way to go was sharp all the way, but as you don't allow to show your EXIF I can't say for sure.

Default To Luko: focus

it was shot at 24mm and the camera focused on the running water, the distance was very short, so even at f/11 the DOF is very limited. but still the expressions of the kids are rather clear, I made an A4 print of this photo and it looks really nice.
iso 320, 1/250s, f/11
now i use Save As to save my pics in PS, before I used Save for web that erased EXIF data, this one was processed quite a while ago, so no exif here
thanks for your comment Luko

"but still the expressions of the kids are rather clear"
The problem is precisely in the word rather...
I want them clear or not. With more bokeh, water may have been more impactful ; with clean sharpness you had a consistent scene...
Here they are rather something... hence let's say it's a rather good photography...
