Default Dear TrekEarth, HDR option you could implement

Dear TrekEarth,

I like your website very much and I have got an idea of an option you could implement.
In the last couple of years there is a big amount of HDR pictures and it isnít fair to present them as a ordinary way of taking pictures just as colour photo. Would it be any chance, when the picture is uploaded, to add HDR/blending option into the scrolling menu with the colour and B&W? I think that many people would appreciate it because I had to ask so many times whether HDR technique was used.

Thank you

Kind regards
Jiri Kuchar

HDR raises the question of how much PP work is acceptable on TE. Whilst subtle application of HDR is barely noticeable, and merely brings out more shadow and highlight detail (similar to burning and dodging in the olden days of darkroom work!), heavy application creates a totally different effect. I don't think that heavily manipulated images, HDR or otherwise, should be on TE.

I agree with you Jiri. HDR should be on TE if the photo content was simply enhanced, but the colors, image and subject are still the same. The tonal values, contrast, contrast, and brightness can be improved.

I am very pleased that some other people agree with me. HDR probably should not be here when it totaly changed the scene, so If TE could at least add the option than everybody know that it is HDR would be great.

Hi everyone. I have made some experiences with HDR in Photomatix. I have not YET published any photo using this PP technique. I think that it can be excessive or not (just like any other technique). If some people wants to fool themselves by saying (thinking): Hey, look what my camera does, that's okay with me. Cheers. Have fun.
