Great Royaldevon 2019-02-25 11:36

Hello Kasia,

The main photograph is like a puzzle, the butterfly, wings closed and shaded. It is suspended on a dew covered seed head, detailed against the sun, in a most artistic way.
The w/s explains the puzzle. The butterfly is one that I sometimes see in my garden in early summer. Did you have to pursue it? I have known me, trot around the garden and just when I have my camera fixed and focussed, the butterfly decides to move to a news plant!
I rate photographers who get sharp, well composed photographs of insects and birds!!

My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Default To Royaldevon: Thank you

Thank you for your kind words Bev!

The poor thing was cold and dew-covered and couldn't move so made for a much easier "model" than you think. But once it had spread it's wing it was soon gone.

The real difficulty was finding it in the long grass at dawn, with enough time before sunrise to put up the tripod, compose etc.

Best wishes
