Great delpeoples 2014-06-03 18:39

Dear Rosemary

I wrote a long critique of this lovely photo, but it has disappeared into the ether. Anyway, a stunning photo, with beautiful chromatic rendering and symmetry. The reflections in the FG pond are delightful and I love the stonework in the BG. Italians really know how to do a garden, as do the Brits, but in a slightly different way. Stunning work, thanks for sharing

Hugs

Smile To delpeoples: Thanks Lisa

Hello there

Thanks for your kind critique Lisa. As I mentioned in my note I really loved this place and especially found it interesting because we learned so much about Iris Origo and her husband. They were very active during WW2 providing help and shelter to the partisans, vulnerable children and escaped POW's. Iris wrote dairy during this time and I have just finished reading it.... fascinating; you might like it "War in Val D'Orcia". She also wrote other books none of which I have read.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Hugs

Rosemary
