Great macjake 2016-10-12 13:58

Hi Ourania
I have to be honest, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings who may live in Greece. When i recently visited Athens a couple years ago, i was quite surprised to see how grungy and dirty the city is. I guess I wasn't expecting the city to look that way. What I see in your photo, with alot of graffiti on the walls, is exactly how I remember the city. Other than the major tourist sites, I didn't think there was much to enjoy in Athens, sorry to say that, but then again, its hard to judge any city when you're there for only 4 or 5 days.

Your photo depicts a true reality in my mind of the inner workings of the city. thanks for this one
cheers
craig

Hello Craig,
thank you very much! To be honest too, I really wondered what kept you from expressing these impressions and thoughts about Athens, I was sure you'd had noticed some sad and discouraging aspects of the city and the daily life in it. I think that what hurts our feelings in Greece is not an honest opinion about the obvious problems but the problems themselves and the dim prospects of getting over them anytime soon. There are a lot of big and little treasures within this vast city, this picture says a lot about its current condition but there are a lot of other aspects too.
Thank you again!
All the best,
Ourania
