Salut John,

I do not mind being linked to Wikipedia and vice versa. It means more exposure.

I do the same as Loic BZH. For historical things I do not know I turn to Wikipedia.

In my opinion the trueprobelm is about the copyright: in Wikipedia each released text (or image) is released in GNU licence, i.e. everyone is free to change, reproduce, or even sell (for istruction purposes only) the photo, while in TE the photos are copyright covered, therefore with a very different licence

You are right, Claudio, but the suggestion is not about upload TE photos to Wikipedia. The idea is just add links (external links, as they say in Wikipedia).
Just as an example, I did it a few minutes ago in the Cape Verde article. If you go there now, in the section External links, sub-section Overviews, the second link (this moment; unless somebody edit and delete it) it is: Cape Verde photo gallery at TrekEarth. If you click it (there) you'll go to our page http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Africa/Cape_Verde/.
I guess there is no problem at all, no copyright difficulty. People visiting Wikipedia Cape Verde article can click the link, like on a Google search or any other means.
Regards, F.
