Great photoray 2009-04-25 4:33

Hello Nina,
Simple but effective image, catching the spirit of Death Valley in summer.

Ray

PS: Death Valley is much more pleasant in the winter when daytime highs are usually less than 80 degrees fahrenheit. Summer is definitely not a good time to visit, it is the hottest place in North America!

Default To photoray: Death Valley Temperature

Hello Ray,
Thanks for your comments on this pic and the other one of Sedona.
I knew that Death Valley was very hot in summer, but they had forecasted about 105F, which I though would not be that bad. We were surprised that it climbed to 121F on the day we arrived , with high hot wind that made it almost impossible to stay outside since breathing was difficult. We stayed in the hotel room for the entire afternoon and got out at sunset when at least the temperature dropped a little. It did allow me to make a pic of Zabriskie Point that looks like hell... Next to come on TE.
