Great Dpbours 2008-08-17 9:16

Hi JB,

Dumbo, that's really the name of the district, or that's what you make of it?! :-)
No swimming. Why? In Rotterdam, Paris etc., cities with a river-beach you are often allowed to swim. Why not here? The current? Terrorists swimming to the bridge? :-)))

Greetings!
Dennis

Default To Dpbours: DUMBO...

Dennis,

This district is called DUMBO since December 2007... It was prevoiously known as Fulton Landing :o).
That's what I like in NYC, all things move fast, even the district names.

And for the forbidden swim : I don't think it is possible in Paris... Seine river is an industrial waste :o)
I think pollution is heavy in Hudson and East river too (Hudson river goes through several industrial sites before NYC).

Thanks for visiting,
JB.

Funny to read how names change.

Didn't consider the health aspect when swimming there :-)))
