This is one of the more unusual images on the site and one that I think about from time to time. Interesting to see it surface again in the forums.
I think that you can deal with some of the criticisms of this photo with a bit of editing.
The sky can be given punch by increasing the contrast and saturation.
The softness of the silhouette can be overcome by carefully sharpening the edges. You may also have to use a blur tool to remove a bit of halo.
I've posted a Workshop to illustrate my thoughts. I didn't spend a lot of time, but just enough to show you what I mean. If you like, you can do the hard work.
BTW, try a version where you crop off the top third or so.

I have a much better print of this and will very soon be putting it up here, as with the rest of my more lacklustre efforts.
As for Workshops; I don't know how that happened! I absolutly allow them and would be thrilled to see yours. This was the first picture I posted to TE and probably didn't know what I was doing then :S |
