Photographer's Note

Still in Algeria 1975, early October.

This is from the outskirts of Constantine, the third largest city of Algeria, about 100 km from the Mediterranean coast. The city is built on a plateau with a huge canyon going through the centre and several fine viewpoints here and there. These elderly men didn't seem to care much for the views, but this was probably a nice and quiet place to take a rest.

When scanning this Kodachrome slide I couldn't avoid some noise. I have tried to clean the sky and the most distant mountain range, but I left the foreground and the fields below untouched to avoid blurring them. You will have to accept that there is some noise at least in the lower two thirds of the photo.
