Photographer's Note

During our fantastic honeymoon in Egypt, we visited a Nubian Village near Aswan.
Despite being a tourist attraction, it was a real village, where nubian people moved after the inundation of their lands due to the building of the Aswan Dam.
The new Nasser Lake, created in 1970, extended for over 480 kmq covering hundreds of villages and some ancient temples. The temples where moved to safer places and the people moved mostly to Aswan and the nearby villages.
The atmosphere in the village was unreal. It was 6pm, the tourists had almost completely gone and the narrow streets where full of running 'little nubians'. In the way back, we encountered this tender kid eating chips.
It was just two days after 11th septemper, but it seemed to be in another world.
