Photographer's Note

This shot is a repost in original color of the photo I posted in B&W yesterday here.

The problematic issue of the man in the reeds is what prompted me to go B&W, given the hazy colors and bizarre focus.

For you convenience I post the original note below:
--------------------------------------------------------

This shot is an outright test. I took a lot of shots of the Nile early in the morning in Egypt, and they came back anywhere from hazy and overexposed to flat to beautiful and colorful. In this case, a picture with very interesting levels of haze and DOF (to me) also turned up a surprise...a human figure standing among the reeds on the closest island, watching our ship. I studied the high res version and he appears to be in some sort of low-riding canoe or rowboat among the grasses, fishing or whatnot. It made me a lot more interested in this shot, which I felt looked far better in B&W than it did in flat, hazy colors. It is only by luck that the fellow is in focus - my camera seems to have picked him up as the focus and did everything else as a reference point. Interested inyour opinions.
