Photographer's Note

Hello my dear friends,

It is my old picture, actually I traveled many times in different places of Madhya Pradesh. This is a famous temple in MP. I shot it in the third week of April, 2008.

Maheshwar is a City in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh state, in central India. The City lies on the north bank of the Narmada River. Mentioned in both the Mahabharata and Ramayana (Hindu texts) under its old name, Mahishmati, Maheshwar is recognized for its spiritual significance, drawing pilgrims and Hindu holy men to its ancient temples and ghats.

Maheshwar was revived by Ahilyabai Holkar, of the Holkar dynasty from Maharastra, who reigned from 1767–1795 and moved the capital there. The dynasty's culture imprint is visible everywhere in the town.

The Maheshwar Shiva Temple is situated on the bank of holy river Narmada.

with best wishes to all,
