Photographer's Note

Food category seems to be less popular amongst members. Only 2000 photos were posted in this category. And it seems that not many people are fond of peeking in photos of foods.

Well, I am very much interested in about what other people have for their dinner, what meal do they cook and how those meals look like.. And maybe recipes as well, in terms of learning this world.

I made Jiaozi this evening then I came up to this idea that I would introduce it in TE. I guess not many people will look in this shot, but who cares?

Shui Jiaozi in Chinese, Mizu Gyouza in Japanese. Make skins from stiring flour and water(dough), roll some filling(minced meat and veges) in it and boil/fry it. To eat, dip it in dressing(soysouce and venigar and sesami oil). Generally Japanese fry it, they don't boil it, unlike the one in this photo. On the contrast to it, Chinese(mostly northern Chinese) boils it. Each homes has got their own recipe for it and they all tastes different.

Here the ingredients were :minced pork meat, baicai(chinese cabbage), herb leaf, mushroom, sesami oil, salt, ginger and pepper. I bought the skin at a super market..

Taken in the kitchen in my house. Boiled Jiaozi(gyouza) in the foreground, raw pieces in the background.
