Photographer's Note
I was invited to a pottery festival in the infamous place in Seto and I stumbled across this lot of roof tiles whilst climbing up the stairs to the pottery museum, my friends thought I was lost and wondered why I hadnt entered the doors of the museum which was on the 2nd floor.
Now if you were wondering, in Japan and China, they dont have a ground floor, instead they start with 1st floor which is ground floor.
I hope you like the repeated pattern of the tiles

From the thumbnail I couldn't say if theese arer stadium seats or roof tiles. The shooting angle is wonderful, and the DoF is very good as well. I like the hight cotrast which makes this shot very special. Very well done, Daniel.

Well executed, extremely interesting photo. The color and the symetric repetition reminds me of some sort of futuristic, sci-fi, scene. Great shot! Regards, Djenno

Graphism with light : all what I like.
The composition in diagonal is well seen here.
Excellent, Daniel !

Splendid rendering of a not so obvious repetitive pattern, vanishing in the distance (though I guess I would have cropped it slightly lower, to cut the tiny little bit of sky I can glimpse)! The burnt-out patches bring a riveting rythm to this composition...
Great treatment, even if I'm usually rather dubious with B&W desaturation. How did your original shot look in color?
I created a theme, Exploring shapes and colours and would like to add your picture in it, if that's ok with you, Daniel. It seems that TrekEarthers usually don't ask to do this, but I respect too much my own posts to "grab" other people's pictures into something they may not like be associated with ; adding a picture to a theme sure shows some appreciation, but it's also a form of appropriation...
More to come, I hope! ;-)

Great graphism, very well spotted Dan. The waves of the roof tiles make for a great "infinity" impression, supported by the DOF. Good stuff, well done.

This is a really good shot - at least, I think so! Really good texture and light used here, and the pattern is very pleasing to the eye. I think I'd be tempted to crop away the top left corner so that you're left with just the tiles, but overall it's really good.

bravo dany;-) your compo and your DOF are making this shot.. excellent capture! maybe a slight crop to the top left to get rid off this bit of blue sky would finish it totally;-) il like the graphic side of this shot! well done daniel!

Very impressive capture, Daniel. The reflection of light is beautiful here and really accentuates the curves of the tiles. The dof is great here making them disappear into the distance nicely. It's a great pattern. I am just not sure about the bit of sky at the corner. I really like it but then play with not having it. In the end I think it's a great point that adds to the feel of perspective, though. Well done.

Whe I read the critiques of Paul Mastrogiacomo, it is very hard to add something new. Immediately I had a sensation of full harmony and order. An harmonius order of curves, light and shadow. Well seen, Daniel

Nice story you tell, it happens to me all the time! people must be prepared to our vanishing because when we have our cameras in hand anything can happen isn´t that right?!
I love the tiles, specially because you choose a great framing!
The light, the sharp and the constrast is very good!

Your picture shows the perfection of the tiles and the regularity of their placement. It's a really perfect composition too with the pattern that converges towards the left corner and finishes in the blur. Good control of exposition with all the tones between black and white points. I like the graphics.

Impressive shot. As avigur_11 said, at first I thought of stadium seats.
The tiles are creating a great pattern and your shooting angle is catching the nice mix of shadows and light on the tiles.

Yes, this is a good shot. If you had a second chance, maybe you could have placed an object of a contrasting colour, like red or orange, in the top left quadrant, to break the monotony.

Great photo. I love the idea. I love patterns that are either found in nature or in man-made things. Especially patterns that are not meant to be aesthetic but more functional. I want to do a series of photos of those patterns much like what you have done here. Very nice clarity, lighting and composition! JP

Hi dan !
superb composition! it is really simple and effective.
I like much the effect of texture on the tiles, and the curve of the tiles which give a dimension very graphic to the image
That resembles an image 3D
