The Kadayawan Festival in Davao is considered the festival of all festivals in the Philippines. Held annually on August (this year from 14-20), it is a celebration of thanksgiving for bountiful harvest and a great year that was for Davao.

This week long celebration not only promotes the city as a tourist destination but likewise promotes different cultures from different indegenious tribes who originated from the region. One of the highlights of the Kadayawan is the street dancing where dancers wear colorful and flamboyant native outfits and moves with the beat of huge drums, gongs and other indegenious musical instruments. People from all walks of life flood the main streets of the city to witness such event and join in with the celebration amidst the staggering heat of the sun. Because in Davao when we say celebration, we definetly mean it!

Du-aw Davao! Visit Davao!
