Photographer's Note

Behold the clown of the car of Soviet era - Zaporozhets ZAZ 968-A.
Made in Ukraine, production started in 1974 and ended in 1994. Cheapest Soviet car. Engine volume 1,2 liters; 40 horse-powers.
Rear-wheeled drive, air-cooled engine - like a Porsche, but here comparison stops.
ZAZ-968 was famous for it's technical unexcellency, small size and strange technical ideas wich were put in it's design.
Thus the nicknames and anecdotes - Zaporozhets is usual clown in them. Nickname of that particular model - on the photo - ZAZ 968-A - is "Big Ears", because of the air-cool hatches at the back.
I had ZAZ-968-A when I was lot younger. It broke up every week, and finally died after 2 months of usage.
One Zaporozhets less...
Rare car these days!
