Photographer's Note

the world cup continues and as well as shooting large crowd shots, i also decided to get more personal and shoot some world cup faces.

i didn't get any close up shots, because it was dark and the ones i shot didn't work out. however i got a few nice crowd shots where faces could be seen.

during the world cup, because there were so many people, the roads were all blocked off and people were sitting and watching massive tv screens.

almost everyone was sitting on blow up cushions and wearing "red devil" horns.

this shot was taken from the middle of seoul's busiest road. at 4am there were no cars, but the road was full of people ... watching, expecting, hoping.

at this point the score was 1-0 to france. the korean crowds had hushed to listen to the commentary and pray for their team to level the score.

i like this shot because it shows intense concentration. the looks on their faces were echoed by another 200,000 or 300,000 people around the city hall square.
