She was looking rather bored, and this isn't an easy life for some people and seeing how others have to live can bring a very different perspective to our own life. Spotted this young Black Hmong farmer taking a much needed rest from a long walk home some few km down hill. Just to remind us that, when you think you got a bad deal, someone got no deal at all.....

This prompted me to click a few pictures from some distance, somewhere in rural Sapa.

Setting: 300 mm, 1/500 sec, F5.6, ISO Raw 200, 1722 hrs.

This is a very subtle and strangely beautiful photograph.
The lady is unaware of your presence so there is no posing, she is just resting, aware of her own thoughts.
Good use of shallow dof.

I'm not quite sure, is the lady wearing a hat or is the band around her head part of the strapping to support the basket?

A very good vertical composition and a great side portrait of this young lady and the heavy load she seems to be carrying on her back. The sharpness is superb and the sidelight added a nice play of light and shadow.

Hello Abmdsudi, beautiful portrait of this young Black Hmong woman from Sapa. Seeing how hard is the life in some parts of the globe we look differently at our problems. charming profile, superb colours and sharpness. Sapa is the area in Vietnam that I haven't been to and I regret it.
