Photographer's Note

Yes, maybe a postcard-style photo, but I couldn't resist uploading a night view of Brugge, my favourite town in Northern Europe, in which the historic center hasn't changed much since its Golden Age - XIII-XVI centuries. Sometimes referred to as the "Venice of the North", Brugge has many waterways that run through the city. Here we see the old merchants' houses reflected in the still waters of the Groene Rei canal with the St. Nepomuk bridge in the distance. Photo was taken from another bridge, the one which is shown here. No tripod used, just put the camera on the stone embankment.

Photo scanned from old print and cropped from a landscape format. Maybe some will find the crop on the left too tight, but this is because there were some really bright lights there which would burn the picture, so I had to leave them out. What concerns the blue hour, I agree it could be better if I'd taken it earlier, but 6 years ago I didn't realize this yet...
