Photographer's Note

Today evening I was designated by the table tennis club of my son as driver to lead the young people within the framework of the interclub meetings in Jalhay. I benefitted the occasion to walk in Verviers, a city which I did not know at all. Without of course forgetting the material necessary, I parked my car at the central station then with my bag and the very cumbersome tripod I moved towards the centre town. Not being nothing to inform me before, I crossed an old couple walking with their dog, they quickly understood that I sought to photograph some things of interesting. Immediately many suggestions were made to me, one would say that they are proud of their city. I make a point of telling you this anecdote to thank this nice couple and then I think that photography is really a history of discovery and pleasant meetings…
Some words nevertheless about the photograph, it acts of the Monument-fountain dedicated to Jean-François Ortmans, Mayor of Verviers, with which one owes the initiative of the construction of the dam Gileppe and the development of the water distribution in this city (1878).
Have a good weekend !
