Bruges
My second visit to Bruges since my accident, with public transport very carefully with one hand.
I want to thank everyone who wishes me much improvement through write criticisms
But I want to go back to Bruges my city, for a small stroll and good cup of coffee.
Thanks to all.
The Eiermarkt is a small square in Bruges.
This place was originally called Bergpoel or Ten Berghpoele. Galbert van Brugge described it as a swampy pool in which one could drown and in which sometimes corpses of executed criminals were thrown. It must be remembered that people were at the back of the Grote Markt. The name Bergpoel remained in use until 1600.
In the meantime, the Eiermarkt name came into use, which initially related more to the activity than to the site. After all, it was the place where, muddy or not, the trade in dairy products had its center. In 1288 there was already a Boterhuis or Boterhalle. The hall was rebuilt in 1404, but abandoned in 1540 for the new Boterhuis in Sint-Jakobsstraat. In 1580 the hall on the Eiermarkt was demolished due to dilapidation.
The Eiermarkt consists of three parts:
a square square, which was closed on the side of the Grote Markt by the Sint-Kristoffelkapel and now by the back of restaurants and bars. Since the last quarter of the 20th century, nothing but catering establishments have been established.
a second part is actually part of the streets there and is not recognizable as a square.
a third part is the short street section from the Markt to the actual Eiermarkt.
The Eiermarkt runs from the corner of the Markt, with the Geldmuntstraat on one side and the Kuipersstraat on the other. The Sint-Jakobsstraat flows into it, as does the Geernaartstraat and the Rozemarijnstraat.
I hope that you enjoy it

Hello John,
You seem to enjoy a much better weather than Stockholm. The sky is lovely and a lot of people animate the view of the square lined with beautiful buildings. You placed the pump nicely towards the side, where it is balanced by the corner of the grey building. I like that all buildings are of different heights and have different kinds of roofs. That also makes the view lively and interesting.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hallo John,

Hi John,
The wideness of the square is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The presence of the persons is animating the scene. Have a nice day, get well soon.

Hallo John,

Hello John,
I am glad to read that you are able to go out and enjoy your beloved city. I am praying for a full recovery of your hand. 🙏🏻
I like the crisp colors in your photo. As difficult as it may be to photograph with one hand, you are still producing top quality photos. 👍🏻👍🏻 BTW, does Eiermarkt mean egg market?

Bien cadrée cette place avec ces façades et cette architecture traditionnelle, bonne gestion de la luminosité, la vue des passants anime la photo.

Hello John,
You have given us some very interesting and informative notes.
Who would believe that this was once a swampy area where criminals were cast! I wonder what could be found underneath all these cobbles and fine buildings, if excavated!!!
The soft, autumn light is excellent for photography and you have taken perfect advantage of it.
It's a very engaging, daily life scene, lots of figures to create the calm atmosphere and for us to peruse without fear of embarrassment.
The tall buildings are sharply captured, interesting in their own right and confine interest within their boundary.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Dag John,

Hi John
Another excellent shot of the town centre, the tones and detail of the grand architecture give this an appealing look. The mingling people and specks of vivid colour do offer the eye a great deal of interest too, and lots going on and lots to admire. It's a nice spot you discover all making an interesting and well captured. Congrats
Best regards

Hi John,
what a lovely square here,
I like the natural light, which well gives away the mood of the colder days already.
It goes well with people wearing the jackets.
Nice asymmetric composition.
People bring in life to the scene.
Very well seen and captured,
M

Hi John.
I didn't know that you had an accident, that you had reduced travel with one hand, I am glad that you are already more recovered.
Here you delight us with this beautiful corner of this wonderful city, where at every step you find something attractive to shoot the camera.
A magnificent range of colors, in some tones, very attractive.
Good management of brightness and sharpness, which enhance the details.
Very well done. I love.
Have a great day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hallo John, cars are not allowed in that square in Bruges. The area is dedicated to two wheelers and pedestrians. It is a perfect spot to drink a beer or a coffee in the cafes available here. Nice view showing the street activity and the local architecture. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.

Nice nice view of lovely Bruges, easily one of my favorite towns in Europe. A postcard perfect image with nice people and wonderful building angles. The photo shows the 19th of October chill and the onset soon of winter. Yet the sun is partly out yet there are few shadows from the walkers. A nice mood.
*** Indeed you have a very nice photo with your wife, so I adopted the idea and added one with mine. She is often with me on all these adventures and lets me take the pace needed to use my camera. She should get equal credit for pointing out what I might miss.

Hello John,
Bruges looks like delightful city to visit. Good sharpness and the red brick buildings and roofs contrast well with the blue sky. I also appreciate a good cup of coffee. A nice capture of the closed off semi courtyard with a statue atop an obelisk in its centre. Tfs!
