Bruges January 2019

The photo was taken January 2019 so during the winter
A boy takes a picture of his girl.

Also, a view about the shopping street.

The Steenstraat Bruges now car free in the afternoon
A wonderful initiative of the Bruges administration.

Together with Zuidzandstraat, it forms the southern one of the two axes that connect 't Zand with the Grote Markt. The northern one is the Noordzandstraat / Geldmuntstraat. Both axes are today the most important shopping streets in the center of Bruges. The Steenstraat runs along two-thirds of that southern axis and begins, coming from 't Zand, at the height of the cathedral and ends in the Grote Markt. It is considered to be one of the most important shopping streets in Belgium and is usually mentioned in the same breath with the Nieuwstraat in Brussels, the Meir in Antwerp and the Veldstraat in Ghent. As in those cities, Steenstraat, with Zuidzandstraat in the alternative, is the street where the chain stores prefer to settle in Bruges.

I hope you like it
