Split Marina, a photo from Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Coast

Photographer's Note

A lady in red at Split Marina. I did try and wait for the man to move away, but he was still there when I left. In the bg is the bell tower of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, located amongst the ruins of Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace. From Split I got a passenger boat to Hvar, then another boat from Hvar to Korcula, then a 3rd boat from Korcula to Orebic, and from there a bus to Dubrovnik.

Chris, splendid sailing boats were moored in Split marina at the time of the photo. The passersby are well included on the right, they animate the scene. The bell tower dominates the neighborhood by its size. I like the afternoon golden light. Fine colors, good image quality, regards.

Hello Chris,
I would need "Split vision" to be able to focus on the boats, the lady in red and the church tower at the same time. ;-) They are all parts of a nice view. The light and contrasts are superb.

I remember my time here very well, I can recall eating at a restaurant just around that corner, and I was taking photos of that stone wall during my meal from my chair :) The blue tones in the sky really make it come alive. Seeing it now, I regret not taking a boat cruise - oh well. sweet shot in this bright light. cheers

Hi Chris,
the long and beautiful Romanesc tower gives away that there is a lot to see in this town. The view is pleasant with the yaughts up front.

The composition is very well-balanced and offers an excellent view of the beautiful ships in front of the town and especially the church tower, which stands out so well from the blue sky. The warm sidelight was wonderful as well.
