A Prague Classic

Let’s stay on the banks of the Vltava for this classic view of Prague. It shows Charles Bridge (Karlův most) on the left hand side with the dome of the St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Old Town Bridge Tower (Staroměstská mostecká věž) on the other end. The tower on the right hand side is the Old Town Water Tower (Staroměstská vodárna) with in front of the Bedřich Smetana Museum, dedicated to the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana (1824-84), whose most famous work is probably the piece of music named after the river that flows in the foreground of the photo, Vltava, the second part of his six symphonic poems Má Vlast (My Homeland).
