In front of the Town hall of Marseilles, one discovers the three-masted ship “Marseillois” anchored in the Vieux-Port. Its 42 meters length and its 8 meters of width shelter a restaurant since 1999.
This schooner built in the years 1920 in Valence in Spain coasted for the trade during 30 years close to the French and Spanish coasts of the Mediterranean, between the Balearic Islands, Marseilles, Valence and Barcelona.

MARSEILLE is a French commune, located in the department of the Bouches-du-Rhône of the area Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, populated of 852395 Marseillais in 2007, divided out of 239 km², that is to say 3335 hab./km².

Marseille the oldest town of France, is rich of a 2600 years past of history.
With 1,601,095 inhabitants in 2006, Marseille is the third urban surface behind Paris and Lyon.

Marseille, was founded towards 600 before J.-C. by Greek sailors, came from Phocée to Asia Mineure, under the name of Massalia. Marseille is the first French port and the fourth European port.
