I had seen socca places before in Nice, but had never actually tried it. This time, I ran into a small socca stand in the Cours Saleya market, and decided to try the local specialty. The lady chopped up a part of her big round pancake into slices, and scooped them into a sack for me. Mmm pretty good! But what's it made of? Pois chiche, a French friend explained. Chick peas. Later that same day, I saw this socca cycle in a quiet street near the Place Rossetti, and took a pic as a reminder of that first chick pea pancake.
