Photographer's Note

Here is another old house with a thatched roof in Sieseby in the very north of Germany near the small town Kappeln. It's situated on the southern bank of a bay of the Baltic Sea, called Schlei.
In the first half of the 19th century the village belonged to the businessman Gustav Anton Schäffer from Hamburg (see initials: G.A.S.). In the middle of the 19th century he sold the village, after a basic renovation, to the noble family Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. This family still today is the owner of Sieseby.
The whole little village is a national monument and really worth a visit.
