This a view from inside the port of Nafpaktos.

At both sides you can see parts of old Venetian Castle. At right end you can see some musicians, prepared for night performance.

Nafpaktos is situated in the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania, 10 km east of Antirrio and 216 km from Athens. It is one of the oldest towns in Greece with history of 3.500 years. This is where the boats of the Dorians were built to pass to Peloponnese. Nafpaktos became the centre of Aetolia after the destruction of Thermo. In 456 BC the Athenians took it over and in 404 BC it was ceded to the Lokri. Eventually it became a member of the Aetolian League.

The old Venetian castle and the Venetian port, one of the best ports in the Mediterranean Sea, are very impressive. In this port the naval battle of Nafpaktos took place, when the Turkish armada was destroyed. (1571).

Today Nafpaktos is an ideal destination for holidays: tourist infrastructure and excellent climate with mild winter and cool summer.

Hi Chris,
Crisp and bright, but also extreme sharp and on some pleaces even a bit to sharp. But the light you caught, and the composition you made of it is wonderful. The look through in the center to the mountains in the background with warm light on it is truly wonderful. Great eye in the comosition, very good.

πολύ ωραία η γωνία λήψης σου από το τόσο γνωστό σε μένα λιμάνι της Ναυπάκτου με το μεσαιωνικό κάστρο της.Μου αρέσουν τα ζεστά απογευματινά χρώματα τα οποία αναδυκνύουν το κάστρο.στο βάθος το Παναχαικό όρος φαντάζει και αυτό υπέροχο.

Η φωτογραφια σου ειναι πολυ ωραια και αναδεικνειει ακομη πιο πολυ αυτο το ομορφο μερος της Ελλαδος.Καθαρες λεπτομερειες και φανταστικο βαθος πεδιου προς τα συννεφα...Αυτο που μ'αρεσει περισσοτερο ειναι η κινηση που δινουν τα συννεφα σε μια τετοια εικονα τοπιου.Πολυ καλη δουλεια!

Χρόνια πολλά και σε σένα Χρήστο!
Λαμπερή εικόνα με εξαιρετικό βάθος πεδίου και πολύ καλό καδράρισμα! Ο δυτικός άνεμος βοήθησε ώστε η ατμόσφαιρα να είναι διαυγής. Η ώρα του δειλινού είναι μια από τις καλύτερες λένε οι ειδικοί στην φωτογράφηση.

Magnificent frame for this chain of mountain which appears with so much precision. I like the play of the shadows and the light created by clouds. The light gilded on the stone is very beautiful also.
