Photographer’s Note

Yesterday we went with some friends in a Park in the southern part of Milan Metro Area, close to the River Adda; the Parco Adda Sud. (it have a surface of 24.260 hectars or 24.260.000 square meters)
It is a large park where there is the original nature of the Pianura Padana.
That plain was completely changed by the men in the last 3.000 years.
Today is poor of trees, urbanized for a large part with many corridors of highways, freeways and railways and more than 24 Millions of people live there. The remaining land is all as filed of corn, rice and other.
Another large part is land for cows and chickens mass production (the largest one of the whole Europe).

But in that Park it was preserved from centuries the original nature of that plain. There are large forest, large ponds and swamps and large large glades with grass sometimes higher than 1 meter.

There are some wild animals that live in that Park as Boars, Fallow Deers, Roe Deers, Deers, Barn Owls, Hedgehogs, Purple Herons...

Inside there are large pic-nic areas some restaurants and a fantastic BBQ restaurant open air.

Yesterday was also a summer day, with more than 30° in the hottest hours and many humidity; so, some fresh beers, many grilled beaf and pork, hot bread, some grilled cheese, sitting on the grass under the shadows of an old tree and a large, large plain where the children can play....what can i ask more?!

Bella foto, piena di colore e molto delicata, complimenti, a mio gusto se del bambino/a si vedevano almeno gli occhi il tutto acquistava un fascino molto piu' forte, ma complimenti lo stesso.

It's a wonderful image, a hidden child in the sea of green, great idea and wonderful composition with the trees at the top to frame the photo and also the blue sky and child's head to offset the green. Wonderful image.

P.S: I'm back and so will be AC Milan next year...

immagine suggestiva e ben composta. Sarebbe stata bella anche senza il bambino,ma rompendo tutto questo verde armonioso é ancora piú piacevole. Secondo me vedendo il viso del bambino sarebbe piú da album fotografico di famiglia,cosí invece c'é spontaneitá ed un pizzico di qualcosa di misterioso e cioé il viso stesso. Complimenti e riciao.

Fantastic shot again. Thanks for showing us an view of what the region looked like many years ago. I really like the bright green tones and the texture of the field and the game of light and shadows. Excellent composition with good proportion earth/sky and this child, at the perfect place, adds a lot of quality and interest.

hi Paolo, there was an immediate association with "catcher in the rye" when i saw this view, i've just barely started the novel but i like it a lot, just like your photo, in which the hidden child makes all the difference!
