Freedom Monument

A photo from just outside the medieval city of Riga, the capital of Latvia. This is the Freedom Monument (Brīvības piemineklis), which honours the soldiers killed during the Latvian War of Independence (1918-20). It was unveiled in 1935 and is 42m tall.
