Photographer's Note

What an excellent outing!
I happened to stumble upon jrj / Jack's post a few weeks ago and dropped him a line about his trip by Luxembourg. Having had the chance to meet a few other TE members already, I thought this would be a lovely opportunity to meet even more :D

So, come Saturday morning, I met not only Jack, but also John, Didier and, some time later, Knut who was gracious enough to give us a running theme for the day... in the form of apparently lost car keys (but that's a whole different story all onto itself).

The rain had settled in for the morning and we all got our rain coats and bag protection layers properly washed by the skies. Some (read - all except me) even dared to pull out their cameras while it was pouring down...
Luckily the rain subsided for the afternoon and we got to drive around and check out various parts of the town and beyond.

Of course our ultimate stop was by the Philharmonie (more about it on wikipedia or on their website).
Being utterly disappointed in my day's pictures, I decided I should still post something not to let the day pass completely un-noted on my small TE album. I feel already bad enough for not having uploaded anything from most of my previous TE encounters.

Here an unusual angle of the Philharmonie, with a slight emphasis on the moss growing on the smooth construction. I find the Philharmonie to be quite challenging in terms of photography, even though it is simply magnificent and created by simple lines. Perhaps a clear signal of my shortcomings as a potential photographer.

As for PP, I de-saturated the whole, added some contrast and lightened it up a lot. Slight sharpening right where the moss is, and that's about it. I'm not sure if I like the end result, but then again, I'm not really that fond of the picture to start with but it's the only viable one in the whole.
