Photographer’s Note
With such a sky I just had to do this 'classic' view to Luxembourg as a HDR version.
3 photos bracketed, Photomatix and Paintshop Pro.
The lower town, in the winding valley bottoms, is mostly industrial. The entrenched meanders of the rivers are crossed by spectacular bridges, including the Adolphus Bridge and the Bridge of Europe. The city is the seat of a university (founded 1958). (ref. CUP)

Hi Jack,
I've got to try this HDR one day ... the clarity and color balance of this photo is just perfect. Contrast and sharpness is quite remarkable too. Excellent!
Cheers,
Renier

Hei Jack,
With all these cranes it looks more like a photo of a construction area than a city skyline, I like here the effective use of the HDR to lighten the bridge structure and give structure to the clouds, I'm trying to find out how to get something acceptable out of photomatix, do you always use three photos ?
I wish you a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

Hello Jack,
Works fine on that type of sky, just at the limit but still OK.

Nice HDR effort again, Jack. The lighting is very nicely rendered, with a bright streak enhancing the details of the bridge's arched stonework. I was also interested to read your info in the note to Jean-Yves, thanks.
Always nice to see the added WS photos to have a bit of the meeting atmosphere with the other members.

Hello Jack
This reminds me of an oil painting entitled 'Toledo', by a famous Spanish Painter... Goya I believe? The dramatic lighting & dark, ominous clouds are similar. Tfs!

Hi Jack
A panoramic of light under a shady atmosphere.
It is interesting since you have managed to combine those two elements, in a full scene of dynamism and contrasts.
Perfect frame and good point of view, congratulations.

Hi, Jack. I think you master the HDR technique quite well. The light in the sky and on the bridge is perfect, which gives a very powerful contrast. Very good colours and sharpness.

Ciao Jack!
Great picture with amazing colour and composition.
Just an information: I downloaded Photomatix some day ago.

I'm waiting for your suggestion...

Hi Jack
I bought Autopano good for stitch but fair for HDR.
Nice dramatic sky I appreciate your way of use because I saw some other HDR picture with a flat composition.
Glad you enjoy the TE meeting.
Cheers.

Hello Jack,
What a miraculous shot! Once I flew to England on LuxAir, visiting Luxembourg and marveling at its signature bridges over ravines, and castles. You have shown one of the spectacular bridges, with multiple arches, illuminated by sunlight breaking through heavy clouds. This is one of the most dramatic juxtapositions of heavy walls and turbulent skies, of brilliant light and dramatic shadows.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Salut Jack !
Superbe vue de Luxembourg. J'y suis allé l'année dernière et je me souviens de ce pont. Le ciel est impressionnant avec ces nuages menaçants. J'aime bien la lumière aussi et le contraste fort, comme dans un tableau "clair/obscur".
Bravo !
