Photographer's Note

'gi us a croggie' is a familiar phrase in the part of England I live in means 'let me ride on the back of your bike'. This little girl and her Dad clocked me pretty quickly. This is the same place as yesterday's picture on the way to the TE meeting at the Dam Square.

A few people asked me re: the last picture about the black and white toning.

Mostly I shoot directly in Black and White without conversion.
I have preset the custom filters on the 5D - green, red and sepia and use these or the standard monochrome setting.

Post processing I convert to Grayscale, Duotone (in this series black and pantone 483C). I then do some work in levels to balance the image. So it is really a simple intervention. What i am looking for is some kind of screen based resemblance to tones of paper and chemicals I liked when i played around with my own printing.
