Photographer's Note

This old mountain summer barn (probably around 100 years) is still in active use each summer from June to September, when the farmer brings up his cows and sheep's from the farm in the valley for the summer period.

The calf's, the younger cows and the sheep's walks freely around in the area around the farm 24h. a day, while the milking cows is placed inside this barn at night. In the day they are out in the terrain and returns by themselves in the afternoon when it's time to be milked. Be sure they know what time it is!

Unfortunately the tradition with summer farming diminished every year - soon to be gone.

This picture was taken in the beginning of October, late in the afternoon in a period where the sun was behind some clouds. I find that avoiding the bright
sunlight often makes a better result for this kind of pictures. Some contrast was added to expose the fine structure of the logs.
