Photographer's Note

Maramures region is (fairly) famous for his perfectly intact rural villages, where the time seems to have stopped his run at least fifty years ago. The road are wide, in perfect conditions and confortable... if you drive a small charriot pulled by two horses (which is, by the way, the most common kind of vehicle that you can find in these lands).
Barsana, Rozavlea, Ieud and many other villages are pleasant agglomerates of few houses, each one ornated by magnificent carved wooden gates, scattered in a green and peaceful valley. Every village is concentrated around its "biserica", wooden churches, some of them built in the fifteenth century, with characteristic arrow-head roofs and belltowers. This boy is the guardian of the "Biserica de Lem" in Rozavlea, ornated by magnificent paintings. With a small donation you will not maybe contribute substantially to the preservation of these fragile decorations, but you will gain a generous smile by the careful little protector of this charming place.
