Godine 1933.

In 1933, the Yugoslav Teachers' Association, a branch of the Danube Banovina in Novi Sad from Novi Sad bought land for the construction of Teacher home. The land was registered in October 1935 and paid 42 000 pounds. Construction plans for home building Teacher done by the architect Danilo Kaćanski. Sculptor Charles Baranja in 1934 made the figure of George Natoševića which was later placed above the entrance door of Teacher home. At the time, part of the Yugoslav Association of teachers, teachers' home was built, President of the Section for the Danube Banovina was a teacher Djordje Mirkov. Needed money for this purpose, giving all members of the association, how then had ko. Contemporary, Professor Misa Lazic recalls them, as students of Sombor Preparandije, homeroom teacher called and asked to contribute money for the upcoming construction. Turnout was high, and as they were told what the price of a brick, students - future teachers knew and pointed with pride and how their brick house built. Professor Lazić With the magazine installed ten bricks. Teacher based at home were consecrated in July 1935, a use permit has already been issued in March 1936. Upon completion of construction, which cost 1 300,00 dinars, teachers were given a comfortable, spacious three-storey building with a well-planned space. On the ground floor there were rooms for the accommodation of teachers and students, also those who came or just passing through Novi Sad. On the first floor were large hall, Pedagogical Museum and Library, which has a large number of books were provided with all necessary and current national and international journals. On the second and third floors were flats, and this money is supposed to support existing institutions in the House. However, neither the teachers did not feel that long used their house. After World War II the new government, however, brought a satisfactory decision to the former home of Teacher Educators' Club moves. As long as they are not deducted for room accommodation "Marxist debate". Team mode after a role model for all other associations in the city. Most in use was a large room on the first floor. It organized thematic debates, he played tambura orchestra teacher, performed concerts of classical music, as sung compositions by Schubert, Mocarata and Bajic, but they are all of the activities were always the most interesting Saturday dance. Famous were the joint celebration of the new year. The club began to love many, many arranged marriages and godfather. In those years, this agile Association had 3 500 members, and at their head stood a president, a teacher Bata Sečujski.
TEACHER DOM later transferred to the premises of the Pedagogical Institute in Novi Sad, which is here formed his library, whose main fund normally originated in the prewar period. The present state of Teacher home, one of the most significant works of modern architecture Novi Sad, thanks to the many users and owners, who did not invest the money in its construction, it is very bad, a derelict facade with threatening to come crashing down whole blocks mortar formwork requires urgent restoration. (Taken from the book Donke Stančić Novi Sad from house to house, published by the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments of Novi Sad, 2005.) Our goal is to return the name of this building, and the importance of the original purpose. We want it to be a center for professional development of teachers (primarily teachers), a library and a multimedia learning center.
