Photographer's Note

Here I go again, another example of shooting a scene directly into the harsh sunlight.

I recently posted a photo of a young girl dancing, which was also shot directly into the over exposed harsh light.

Perhaps this is my new favourite thing...ahhh...NO.
But it is something different for sure, I wanted to try it again and see if the outcome was worth the effort.

Here we are just walking the streets of Barcelona, and this scene caught my attention. Of course the white sky is not ideal, but I didn't care, I wanted to use the white sky and the harsh light to my advantage.

As photographers, and people in general, its all about Growth. For years and years and I have ALWAYS avoided scenes with harsh lighting, even if I loved the subject. I'm going to change my attitude to that from now on, as sometimes the results can be surprising and not so bad after all :)

Get out of your comfort zone and try it. If you shoot postcards, be more creative. If you never use a tripod then USE a tripod. If shoot during the day, do a night photo shoot. If you stay away from portraits, focus solely on portraits. If you focus on architecture, start photographing people. If you focus on people, make a point to avoid people at all costs for a few photo shoots. Try something different. Get out of the comfort zones that shelter us.

In the WS are 2 more shots from the same location
