Basel Münsterplatz

The Marktplatz, where the Basel Town Hall is found, was quite busy, but a little further the town was much more quiet and a calm autumn mood prevailed at Münsterplatz (Minster Square), where also, although not in this photo, the Basel Minster is found. It is one of the oldest squares in the city, it was probably already inhabited in Roman times, due to its elevated location close to the Rhine, even though the square itself was constructed much later.
