Photographer's Note

A climber tackling the north-west ridge of the Trugberg, seen from Obers Mönchjoch, Jungfrau-Aletsch, Switzerland. This part of the Alps had been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This mountain, though not one of the tallest in the area, is still a challenge, and a beautifully fearsome shape. I hope this climber, who was alone, knew what he was doing, as the ridge looked treacherous as the sun had warmed the snow, making falls more likely. It's a long way down!
