Photographer's Note

Quietly located in the Temple Courts of London near the Thames stands the ancient Temple Church, a round church that has held the spot for the better part of a thousand years. It was made by the Knights Templar, and inside the church, awarded with simple, fading stone effigies directly in the floor, are the last resting places of many Templar knights. Each effigy is a masterwork of simple Medieval carving; in most cases, the knights died between the years 1100 and 1170, and their effigies surely look as if they have been sitting there all that time, awaiting their final resurrection.
