Photographer's Note

A beduin boy looking after one of his camels in the late afternoon before sunset to assure they will make their way home. To my surprise, I was told by the boys father that all camels seen gracing around are females. The male camel(s), I thing he's got one or two, are in the camp tight off on a pole as it is breeding time just now and the male camel must remain isolated, sort of?

I wanted to draw the attention to the boy approaching the camel, and when I took the shot a pick-up drove into the scene. I found it disturbing at the first glance and wanted to crop it out, but having a look at it again and again,I made up my mind and left it there. I even think that the motion blure of the vehicle brings the whole scene to life. Also the boy's leg shows motion blure. The white cloth of the boy, the white vehicle and the nearly white fure around the camel's belly and tights comes out best in black and white.
