Photographer's Note

Great Palace in Constantinople (Saint Palatium) was the place of power for about 800 years, from 300-till 1200-s. All really great Eastern Roman Empire emperors lived here, from Constantine the great till the Vasiliy II the Bulgarocton.
Now, 900 years later, all that is left of Grand Palace is just this - one of its staicases, according to some authors, its a staircase from the male part of the palace to the Empresses part.
Humble piece of architecture- but look at it closely. It's 1500 years old. Look at 3 layers of the bricks on the arches. Those guys eons ago knew how to build things! They still stand.
