Photographer's Note
This is the 14th view from my trip to Turkey and the last one from Ephesus.
The other shot from one of the great cities of the Ionian Greeks in Anatolia - Ephesus. It was founded by colonists principally from Athens. The ruins of Ephesus are a major tourist attraction, especially for people travelling to Turkey by cruise ship via the port of Kuşadası. People say that this ancient city is best place in the world to get the feeling for what life was like in Roman times.
There are 2 ancient theatres located between the hills.
Here you can see the 1st one which lies just a few steps from the entrance to the ruins. It`s bigger than the other one and has interesting surrounding. That`s why is much more tourists here probably.
Archeologists still work at the ruins and find a new objects. In next 10 years it might look much different. That`s why it`s so fascinating, the current Ephesus is still changing. I think it made a bigger impression on me than the biggest ancient buildings of this sort located in Athens.
We had a wonderful weather that day, not too hot but still shinny. Exploring this place was a real pleasure.
This time I compressed the perspective using a tele photo lens and set these columns as a foreground.
Taken with 10d, wide angle lens and tripod. Although the one can not use a tripod inside Ephesus I managed to take most of my pictures using it to get the best sharpness.
Hope you like it!
Next post: Dilek National Park.
