Photographer's Note

“Strangers arriving” is the name of this photograph. I took this photograph several years ago while visiting the Trinity Festival. If I remember correctly, this is a re- enactment of a strange ship entering the harbor. There is concern on the welcoming parties’ faces because the strangers could be pirates or marauders. It was quite common that the settlement was destroyed from time to time by enemy armies and or pirates.
As you can see, the fog hides the ship until it is close to shore. The man in the lower right hand corner probably has the best eyesight, and if he detects trouble the villagers should run and hide.
This photograph was sharpened in lab color U. S. M. 60,2,1, and saved for the web .
