Photographer's Note

This is an inside view taken last year during an Doors Open event, when the church was opened to the public after it was closed for several years for major restoration. The picture was taken from the enlarged balcony, a rare opportunity. The large stained class window above the alter was show previously in a separate post. The partially visible hand painted ceiling is remarkable, the stars on it seems to sparkle as you walk along because they are made with with 22 and 23-karat gold leafs. On walls of the nave there are 14 relief sculptures representing the ďStations of the CrossĒ and small statuary depicting various saints and popes. A picture of a wall section in the Workshop, it show these better, and it also shows one of the eight large stained glass windows depicting the life of Jesus. Another Workshop picture shows the new custom-built Casavant Opus 3907 pipe organ, which has 4,143 pipes. I will post some detailed pictures of the sanctuary later.

1. The enlarged balcony with the the pipe organ and seating for 260 people.

2. A section of the wall with the Ascension of Jesus window.
