Photographer's Note

This photo was taken in a bog called La Grande Plée bleue in Lévis about 40 minutes from Québec downtown. Bogs, likes all wetland, are often seen as swamp and and kind of land you don't want near. But, bogs are so wonderful to discover: the red and yellow in autunm and the pink and white colors at spring time !!! Moreover, bogs hides lots of biodiversity and help to regulate water level as well as it purificate water. Bogs, because they are accumulating peat, plays a important role in CO2 stockage and so can help for the global warming.

Walking on peat and spagnum are really fascinating : it likes you walk on a big sponge ... :)

La Grange Plée Bleue is now in process to become an ecological reserve so to be under protection.
